I wanted a chance to get into the Little Big Planet beta experience so the first thing I went to was the 1UP.com site. They are giving away 2,000 codes this week, but they were only giving away 500 per day. Monday ~ Thursday. I missed Monday's chance so I'm prepared for Tuesday then. At a random time, they will give out a question related to LBP, and you must answer it quickly since this contest is first-come, first-serve.

Luckily, I was at work next to a computer with internet access. I refresh the page once in awhile to see if the page updated to today's question. Finally, I saw Tuesday's question appear. All I had to do was find out how many premade levels will be in the final launch. All I did was CTRL + F and searched for "premade level." Then I found the answer, "over 60." I sent the answer, and waited patiently for the result.

I searched around the forums to be sure how everyone reacted to today's 1up challenge. Most of them said it started around 1:24 PM PDT. Guess when I submitted my answer? 1:27 PM. Only 3 minutes away, so I figured I had a good chance. And indeed I was right:

I didn't believe it when I got this e-mail. Sadly, the codes were not sent to my 1UP account yet. Many people said the same thing too. Guess I'll wait tomorrow for the code. (EDIT: Just got it now, inputting code nao!) If you ever want to see me play some Little Big Planet, head on over to my Justin.tv channel. I even have some players from Albatross18 visiting. Nicesu. Remember that this is BETA. The official launch will be around October 21st.

Early plans for October part 2

So today I decided to check up on some more horror games to get ready for October Horror Night for my Justin.TV channel. I came upon two new games that will be coming out soon, and I much rather want to play these first.

Title: Silent Hill: Homecoming
Platform: PC, 360, PS3
Release Date: 09-30-08

Game Description:
Silent Hill: Homecoming marks the sixth story in the Silent Hill mythos, and introduces a new protagonist to the mysterious town. The story follows Alex Shepherd, returning to his hometown of Shepherd's Glen to investigate the sudden disappearance of his brother and the strange occurrences taking place around town. Shepherd unravels a tale that takes him from his boyhood home to the fog-shrouded streets of Silent Hill, facing the darkest horrors of his soul to find his missing brother.

This game features all-new graphics that bring the fear and terror of Silent Hill alive like never before. Alex must survive the terrible denizens of Silent Hill using an all-new enhanced combat system that provides a wide array of attacks and counters. Along the way, Alex will encounter a variety of weapons to battle these horrific monsters and solve deadly puzzles, discovering the darkest secrets of Silent Hill. Silent Hill: Homecoming also features an all-new soundtrack by acclaimed series composer Akira Yamaoka.

Title: Dead Space
Platform: PC, 360, PS3
Console Release Date: 10-14-08

Game Description:
Gamers step into a third-person sci-fi survival horror experience that promises to deliver the ultimate in psychological thrills and gruesome action. Set in the cold blackness of deep space, the atmosphere is soaked with a feeling of tension, dread and sheer terror. In Dead Space, players step into the role of engineer Isaac Clarke – an ordinary man on a seemingly routine mission to fix the communications systems aboard a deep space mining ship. It is not long before Isaac awakes to a living nightmare when he learns that the ship's crew has been ravaged by a vicious alien infestation. He must fight through the dead silence and darkness of deep space to stay alive.

I still would like to play Condemned just for the experience, but I don't know if I'll have the time to play it at all this year or not. Both October and November month will have the biggest gaming launch for this year that I want to play. I haven't and will not forget Condemned though, but the game will have to wait for quite awhile.

Fantasy Golf Pangya Portable (PSP KR)

I know this post is a bit late to announce Ntreev's upcoming game for the PSP system. This game was announced on Ntreev's website on 8-29-08. A 15 second teaser trailer was shown that featured a bright and crisper visual experience. Character facial expressions are fully shown to make them look more lifelike thanks to the power of the PSP, and the animations are a lot more fluid. A new music was also played in the short trailer that could be the main theme of the game.

Thanks to this game, it will be possible to play Pangya anywhere you go~

There will be a new scenario game mode added to the game to add some replay value. This game will have online functionality called Network Mode that you'll be able to play with up to 8 players. Character movement and animations will have the same style just like the PC game with the exception of improved visuals that veterans will be in awe.

There will be a meeting place where players can actually try out the game before it is finalized. You may see this on Pangya KR's website in the frontpage. That's not to say that "anyone" can enter. You will need an application to fill out before you can enter. Since I doubt any of you readers are Korean residents, I won't speak any further about the requirements to get in. I do remember reading that you need to have played the PC version of the game for a certain amount of time.

The meeting place will start from 8-27 ~ 8-28 that will last two days. They especially requested everyone to not bring any cameras or recording devices during the meeting. So no spoiler screenshots to be expected then.

Is that... Kaz's lover, Karen? And what about the shadowy picture. Looks like I see some old caddies from before, and perhaps new caddies will be added for the PSP version that are not shown on the PC version. Just a guess.

Early plans for October

I was thinking it would be great to get into the Halloween spirit by playing some horror video games. I've already played though Fatal Frame 2 and 3. I do remember playing half way through on the first Fatal Frame game a long time ago. Who knows if I'll pick it up again to play it through the end or not.

I do have plans to play this horror FPS game called, Condemned. There's the first game, Condemned: Criminal Origins and the second game, Condemned 2: Bloodshot. Around October, I will be playing, and broadcasting these two games on Justin.TV. Look forward to it. I got scared pretty easily playing Fatal Frame, so just imagine my reaction to this game. I'm not sure how scary this game is, but I guess I'll find out won't I?

If you have any suggestions on a certain horror game that you absolutely sure I'll scream like a Japanese school girl, feel free to tell me. : )

KR Update (09-23-08)

Hello Pangya players. Pangya Season 4 Delight will be having server maintenance from 4:00 ~ 9:00 AM that will last 5 hours. Eastern time converts to 3:00 ~ 8:00 PM. A one hour delay has been annouced. Servers will officially open on 10:00 AM (9:00 PM EDT)

1) Lucia, Kaz, and Nuri all have modified sounds being played in their animations. Works both in-game and PSquare.
Kaz: Sword swinging, Karen shadow noise, dragon, intro when sword appears from ground, etc
Nuri: Hoverboard entrance, hoverboard victory
Lucia: Basically most of her animations have sounds

Even Kaz can make a sound fx by standing still in PSquare. Go ahead and try to see what I mean. *woosh~*

2) New loading screen when switching servers. Nothing outstanding.

3) Brie's Magic Box bug has been fully restored so you can modify your Scratch Card rares now. (nope, not fixed yet)

This concludes the projectg528.pak update for the 23rd of September in Korea.

Trip to Gamestop

I haven't went to Gamestop in a long time so I decided to swing by. Then I decided to get these two games. Killer7 and Blue Dragon. Got them both for $25, good deal.

I have just finished Fatal Frame 3 yesterday so I plan to return the game to Gamefly. Also, I should be getting Gitaroo Man on Monday hopefully. I did rent Gitaroo Man last week, but it would freeze on Stage 3 because the disc is so scratched. Hopefully I get the disc in a better condition.

Welcome to my new blog site. I have moved from my Zoints page to this place. This blog will mostly consist of Pangya updates (probably just Korea only) and my Justin.TV channel. A mix of Pangya and video game consoles to put it simply.
